blog note

Mental health wise, I have had a truly terrible January. Panic attacks, crying fits, so lacking in energy that I've been rooted to the spot for days on end. It has not been fun and I haven't been able to do anything about it. All of my January posts here were pre-written, featuring garments that I made and photographed last year, so I could just schedule them and keep up my normal posting structure, but now I don't have any more of those and I've only managed to make one thing this year. (It's a thing I'm very pleased with, but that's a dramatic drop in my usual productivity.) Taking proper blog photos of that thing currently feels far beyond me, so I'm giving myself a week off and hoping this coming week turns out better and allows me to get something done.

Back (hopefully) next Monday with a proper post.

  4. Jen, so sorry to hear that. I fight depression on and off and I hear, anxiety is similar as well - as in it comes sneaking when you are least expecting and can take over your life.

Please take care and put yourself first and get all the support you need. Every thing else can wait in line, for your attention, whenever you are ready.

  5. It's important to be able to get your priorities straight and let things take a step back. Your mental health is more important than a blog. Hope you feel better soon!

  7. Your blog is usually a ray of sunshine, and I am so sorry that all of that is going on with you. Could it be that you're not getting enough light (seasonal affective disorder caused by a lack of light in winter - there are special lamps that can help with this condition)? I hope you are seeing a professional and that you are keeping in close contact with your support circle. Please take care of yourself. I hope you heal soon.

  9. Take the time and do some major self-soothing. Depression has been my bane for years and I've learned to just give myself time for the feeling to pass by reading my favorite books again, dancing to music in my living room, or borrowing a friend's dog... Do take care of yourself.
